Vice President, Guangdong Academy of Social Sciences

Mr. Yuan Jun, Male, born in May 1962, hails from Xinhua County, Hunan Province, a party member of the Communist Party of China (CPC). Currently Mr. Yuan serves as a member of the Party Group and Vice President of Guangdong Academy of Social Sciences (GDASS), Secretary of the Party Committee of GDASS, Director of the Hong Kong-Macao-Taiwan and International Studies Department, Executive Deputy Dean of the Institute of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Great Bay Area, Standing Council Member of China Society for Social Sciences Information and President of Guangdong Society for Social Sciences Information. His main research subjects include United Front Theory, issues of Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and International Studies, informatisation and Big Data. Mr. Yuan’s occupational service started in August 1977. He had served in the People’s Liberation Army of China from December 1978 to October 1994. From October 1994 to June 2003, Mr. Yuan had served in United Front Work Department of CPC Guangdong Provincial Committee and had served in Liaison Office of China’s central government in Hong Kong from June 2003 to June 2013. Mr. Yuan’s recent publications and academic works include “One Belt One Road” and Cooperation between Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao, Study on the Construction of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Great Bay Area in the Background of “One country Two systems”, Dongjiang River and Sentiments from Two Places, Development Planning for Big Data in Guangdong Social Sciences, and Construction of Information Platform for Guangdong Think Tanks.
